1. Who we are
Moodly ("we," "us," or "our") is a mood-tracking app currently in pre-launch for iOS and Android. This policy explains what we collect when you join our waitlist, and what we intend to collect when the app launches. If you have any questions, write to us at hello@moodly.my.
2. What we collect right now (waitlist)
When you sign up for the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address. We use it to let you know when Moodly launches and to send occasional updates about our progress. Emails are managed through Kit (ConvertKit), our email service provider.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may log your IP address, browser type, and timestamp to keep the site running and secure.
That's it. No tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics you didn't consent to.
3. What we'll collect in the app
Once Moodly launches, the app will also process:
- Your mood check-ins — the moods, notes, and tags you save in your morning and evening entries.
- Account info — name (optional), language preference, timezone, and device type.
- Usage events — anonymous events like "completed a breathing exercise" so we can improve the app.
- AI insights input — your own entries, passed securely to our AI provider only when you ask for a weekly letter or personality insight.
4. How we use it
- To run the service — syncing your entries, sending weekly letters, generating insights.
- To send service emails (launch news, important account notices). You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time.
- To improve Moodly — we look at aggregated, anonymized usage patterns, never individual diaries.
- To keep the service safe and prevent abuse.
5. What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data. Ever.
- We don't share your mood entries with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't use your personal entries to train public AI models.
6. Who we share data with
We work with a small number of trusted service providers who help us run Moodly — for example, email delivery (Kit / ConvertKit), cloud hosting (Vercel), and the AI provider that powers weekly letters. They only ever see what they need to do their job, and they're contractually bound to protect your data.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct or update it.
- Delete your account and all associated data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to certain kinds of processing.
To exercise any of these, email hello@moodly.my and we'll take care of it.
8. How long we keep things
Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or we launch the product, whichever comes first. In-app data is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep it to comply with the law.
9. Children
Moodly is intended for people 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, please contact us and we'll remove the account.
10. International transfers
Moodly is available in English, Russian, and Uzbek, and we operate globally. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) when transferring data across borders.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll notify you by email or in the app. Small clarifications will simply be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
